Dr. Kwang Yul Cha

Dr. Kwang Yul Cha is the Founder and Chancellor of CHA Health Systems and Pochon CHA University in Seoul, Korea.

Dr. Kwang Yul Cha received his medical degree from the prestigious Yonsei University graduating summa cum laude and performed his postdoctoral fellowship in endocrinology and infertility at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Kwang Yul Cha also served as a visiting professor at Columbia University where he established and operated CHA Columbia Fertility Center in collaboration with Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.

An internationally renowned medical expert and the most recognized, preeminent authority on reproductive endocrinology and infertility, Dr. Kwang Yul Cha pioneered the world's first successful pregnancy and birth through in vitro maturation from immature oocytes and also the world's first successful birth with frozen oocytes utilizing the technique of oocyte vitrification (EM Grid).

His landmark accomplishment received worldwide media coverage on NBC, CBS, BBC, the Wall Street Journal, TIME Magazine, People Magazine and many others.

And in 2001, Dr. Kwang Yul Cha yet again become the first in the world to establish a commercial ovum bank, located in Los Angeles, which has naturally become the archetype for all future commercial ovum banks opened throughout the world.
